We are a team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and music therapists with a range of specialist skills. We work with people of any age from babies to older adults throughout Kent. We visit you to provide the therapy that you need.

Occupational Therapy Adult Assessments

Activities Of Daily Living Assessment

This assessment looks at the daily activities that you want or need to do and makes recommendations to help improve your independence with them, such as household tasks, looking after yourself, getting around and maintaining hobbies and interests.

OT for neurological impairment

Specialist occupational therapists who work within the field of neurology have the skills to fully assess and treat a range of complex neurological impairments due to conditions including MS, Parkinson’s, stroke; or as a result of injury to the brain and spinal cord.

Returning Home Assessment

Are you due to return home after a stay in hospital or a care home and feel worried about how you are going to manage? This assessment at your home address offers recommendations to enable you to return home as safely and as independently as possible.

Adult Sensory assessment

Our specialist occupational therapists provide sensory assessments for adults living with challenges relating to emotional wellbeing or neurodivergence. A written report offering practical strategies for daily living and optional follow-up support is provided

Seating/ Mobility Equipment Assessment

This assessment is used to make sure you are comfortable, safe, and that the seating/ mobility equipment you are using is meeting your needs. We work closely with a local mobility and equipment supplier.

Home Adaptations Consultation Service

This assessment looks at how you can be more independent by making adaptations to your home environment.

Occupational Therapy Children & Young People Assessments

Sensory Assessment

This assessment measures a child’s responses to sensory events in everyday life. It provides a picture of a child’s sensory processing patterns which is used to analyse how they might be impacting upon a child’s participation in everyday life.

Fine Motor Skills Assessment

A fine motor skills assessment looks at how effectively a child uses their hands for functional tasks and looks at hand strength, dexterity, grasp, manipulation, coordination, and how these impact handwriting, using cutlery, dressing, and play.

Home adaptation  consultation service

This assessment looks at how your child/ young person can be more independent by making adaptations to your home environment.

Movement Assessment Battery For Children

3rd Edition (Movement ABC-2)
This is a standardised motor skills assessment used to identify and understand motor coordination difficulties, including Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (dyspraxia).

Seating/mobility Equipment Assessment

This assessment is used to make sure your child is comfortable, safe, and that the equipment they are using is meeting their needs. We work closely with a local mobility and equipment supplier.

EHCP

Educational & Health Care Plan
We can provide an occupational therapy assessment as part of the required evidence for an EHCP. We can provide occupational therapy sessions where this need has been identified within an EHCP.

VMI Assessment Visual-Motor Integration

This standardised assessment measures how well a child’s visual perception and motor coordination work together. Difficulties in these areas can affect handwriting, drawing, copying and spacing.

Activities of Daily Living assessment

This assessment will look at how your child/ young person is managing their daily activities at home or in the school or nursery environment.

Test of Visual Perceptual Skills 4th Edition (TVPS-4)

The TVPS is a standardised assessment to determine visual-perceptual strengths and weaknesses.

Physiotherapy can help people of all ages to improve movement and function caused by injury, illness, or disability. We work closely with a private company that supplies mobility equipment and wheelchairs.

Music Therapy

We have music therapists as part of our team. Music therapy helps people of all ages and abilities and at all stages of life who may have been affected by injury, illness, or disability. The music therapist will get to know you and will help you to explore and connect with the world and express yourself in your own way through music.

We aim to offer flexibility with appointments by offering some evening and weekend appointments in addition to weekday appointments. We can visit you at your home, hospital, care home, nursery, school, or college.

We Work With

We welcome a range of different enquiries from parents or carers to organisations or charities. We understand that each enquiry has its own specific requirements. We will take care to ensure that we find the right therapist for your needs.

Parents

We enjoy working closely with parents, and together we work as a team, to get the best outcome for your child. We are happy to arrange an initial phone call or a Zoom meeting so the therapist can introduce themselves and have a chat before they visit you and your child. If the appointment to see your child takes place at school, we are pleased to chat to you and provide feedback after this.

Places of education

We offer assessments and regular therapy sessions to children and young people in a variety of educational settings. We work with relevant staff members including teachers, learning support workers, or SENCOs.

Community Interest Companies (CIC)

We enjoy building a working relationship with CICs. We are pleased to be a part of these forward-thinking and outward-looking enterprises which benefit the communities that they work within.

  • Brogdale CIC – We work in 5 of Brogdale’s Craftworks College sites.
Case Managers

Working with case managers often offers us the opportunity to deliver our therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team. Working towards shared goals in a care plan and seeing client progress is one of the most rewarding parts of our role.

Care Organisations

We have experience working with a variety of care organisations and enjoy liaising with staff in order to set up the best arrangements to provide therapy to those who they benefit.

Charities

Working with charities brings a different aspect to the work we do. We enjoy communicating with charity coordinators and working together to give the clients the best possible care and outcomes.
