Lewis and Kizzie have been providing occupational therapy for patients in our recently launched intensive stroke rehabilitation programme. Lewis and Kizzie bring a wealth of experience and expertise which has been reflected in our patient’s feedback comments. As our service continues to expand we look forward to working more with them in the future and jointly providing a gold standard service for people with neurological conditions

Thawheedha completed an assessment for one of our foster children.The carers had a very positive experience and found Thawheedha’s input incredibly valuable.

I have seen improvement with my mother’s memory and cognitive behaviour since Harriette started the music therapy sessions.

On a personal basis, she is kind, patient, and my mother really looks forward to seeing her.

I am pleased to say that Harriette has been doing an amazing job here. We are happy with what she has been doing.

Harriette has been great, working with our son compassionately and at his pace. Despite her coming into work with him on days when he has been extremely upset and agitated, by the end of her session, he is always calmer and more relaxed. She works so well with my son and always tailors her session exactly to his preferences. I would recommend her unreservedly to anyone considering music therapy for their child.

My client managed to walk with me for the first time on dry land with use of a gutter frame –

His accident was 14 years ago, and he’s been pretty much wheelchair bound since. He walked today !!

Katie has been great, very nice and personal. Our son really liked her too.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank Clare also. I wasn’t sure how my girls would respond to the assessments however Clare was so great with them and made them feel at ease super quickly so they were able to be their true authentic selves during the assessment. I rarely see my girls able to be completely relaxed & their true selves when around adults who are not family or extremely close friends so it was lovely to see them interact with Claire and feel so comfortable with her so quickly.

It is a great privilege to be able to support SSAFA in Kent with advice, assessments and products to aid their clients with their mobility and independence. Ensuring any equipment supplied provides the greatest level of benefit is of great importance to us and we rely on the close working relationship we have with Kent OT to achieve this. On all assessments, working in tandem with a therapist from Kent OT, we aim to ascertain what barriers a client is facing and then work together on solutions that are cost effective, futureproofed and appropriate for the given need. The clients we get to work with are truly some of the most interesting people we get to meet and we hope, together with Kent OT, we may continue providing our services for many years to come.

As a Case Manager, I need to work alongside private therapists that are flexible, motivated, and knowledgeable. I also need the system around that therapist to be organised and methodical. I’m happy to report that working with Kent Occupational Therapy has provided all of this! I find that the occupational therapist is flexible to our client’s needs, and takes into account the child’s family and their individual life circumstances. She has been able to recommend and introduce appropriate equipment, which has made a positive difference to our client and allowed him to be more fully included in family life. She has started therapy intervention at a pace that is acceptable to the client. She is fully client-focused and proactive. I receive written monthly updates which keep me up to date with work completed and the next set of plans.

I am so happy with Claire’s input because of how my child talks about the weekly occupational therapy sessions at school. Reading the weekly feedback reports has made me happy as Claire had clearly got to know him so well. I am glad I managed to get the help that was needed from you! I am really looking forward to Claire working with him again after the school holidays. Thank you!

SSAFA in Kent has been working closely with Kent Occupational Therapy for client assessments related to mobility aids and disabled facilities grants for a number of years. The team is always responsive, liaises effectively with clients and provides the detailed reports needed for us to raise grants. It is a pleasure to work with them.

I always enjoy working with Kent OT and like that I can always speak to either Sophie or Sarah to discuss our work. I had a particularly complicated case and was pleased to be able to speak with them throughout. This case is now being used as part of training new caseworkers which is great as it will benefit others.
Claire was the OT who visited my client; she took time to listen to my client’s needs and understand his circumstances. Her report and recommendations were extremely professional and it enabled us to get the funding we needed to purchase the equipment, and to help make changes to his circumstances, that will enable him to maintain the independence that is so important to him.
