Founders and history
Hello! We are Sophie and Sarah and we are registered Occupational Therapists.
Following our training we both worked for a number of years in the NHS gaining extensive experience.
We began our company, Kent Occupational Therapy in 2011. We wanted to be able to deliver Occupational Therapy in a more creative and flexible way and had seen a need in care homes. We designed a weekly group to encourage cognitive stimulation using multisensory activities which quickly became an established and valued part of residents’ life in the homes and our meaningful and positive provision helped residents to live well.
In 2017 we published The Multisensory Reminiscence activity Book which is based on this group work.
Running our own company has given us the opportunity to deliver Occupational Therapy in an area which we love and the flexibility to bring up our families. We have met some amazing people along the way in our groups and we continue to learn from, and feel privileged to work with, them.
