Claire Farnham

Area of interest and relevant experience

Since qualifying as an occupational therapist in 1998 I have worked across many areas of occupational therapy, predominantly within the field of paediatrics. I am particularly passionate about working with children and those with physical disabilities.

BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southampton.

How long have You worked with Kent Occupational therapy?

I began working with Kent Occupational Therapy in 2017 and I’ve enjoyed working with both children and adults. I have worked with a number of people referred from SSAFA, the armed forces charity, which I find very rewarding.

what do you like about being an OT?

I enjoy making a difference to a person’s life and enabling them to partake in tasks that previously may have been too difficult. I also enjoy working alongside other professionals such as physiotherapists, speech and language therapists as well as equipment representatives as required.

Outside of work

I am a mother to three children, constantly juggling their homework and out of school activities with my love of crafting and baking. I have recently made all the wedding stationery for a family wedding, and looking forward to attending a workshop to learn how to make icing flowers later in the year.
