Working with us

We first began Kent OT in 2011 when we offered an OT service to care homes in East Kent. We loved the diversity of this work and enjoyed working with some wonderful people. We developed our multisensory group work programme which we then published as a book, The Multisensory Reminiscence Activity Book. During this time, we also worked with two associates (who are still with us!) who carried out OT assessments and treatment programmes in other specialist areas.
Following Covid, we decided that Kent OT would take a new direction and, through word of mouth and recommendations amongst therapists in Kent who wanted to do some independent work, we began to grow our lovely team!

Our values

Kent OT is built on honesty, integrity, and hard work. We love and value the ‘family feel’ that we have at Kent OT and work to maintain this by being accessible and supportive to our team. Each of the therapists has an area of special interest and is an expert in their field of practice. We are proud of the range of knowledge and talent that is within our team and the generosity in sharing it along with advice, ideas and resources which happens on a daily basis.

Our ethos

Trustworthiness and credibility are central to the ethos of our work. We are proud of our reputation for excellent communication with, and support of, our clients and our team. Being client centred is at the heart of our business.

Being an associate of Kent OT

When you join Kent OT you will be part of a supportive and well-informed team which works hard for the clients they provide therapy for.
We are available to each team member and make time for regular contact through team meetings, coffee drop-ins, zoom or in-person catch-ups. We have an active WhatsApp group, and satellite supervision groups, and Sophie or Sarah are always contactable. We have recently started a newsletter which is a great way of sharing information including positive feedback received from clients, new training that has been completed, dates for the diary etc.
Kent OT receives a variety of enquiries and referrals and we have a growing library of assessment tools which can be borrowed for use when assessing or carrying out treatment sessions with clients.
